Description:Β I’m telling you why we broke up, Ed. I’m writing it in this letter, the whole truth of why it happened.

Min Green and Ed Slaterton are breaking up, so Min is writing Ed a letter and giving him a box. Inside the box is why they broke up. Two bottle caps, a movie ticket, a folded note, a box of matches, a protractor, books, a toy truck, a pair of ugly earrings, a comb from a motel room, and every other item collected over the course of a giddy, intimate, heartbreaking relationship. Item after item is illustrated and accounted for, and then the box, like a girlfriend, will be dumped.

You either have the feeling or you don’t

Seriously, if you read this book and you don’t like it, you don’t have feelings. This is probably the book that I would love to read over and over again. Just the way, Daniel Handler writes the perspective of Min is amazing. You can really see how he molds her character from being a shy girl at school who fell in love with Ed Slaterton, one of the most popular guy in school into a girl who builds up the courage to write the story of how she and Ed broke up. The illustrations were pretty impressive. It really fits in the story. And I remembered, I was only a hundred pages in, I really felt the emotion poured out for this story. It was everything and I feel like I went through a breakup. Yes, it was that good. My only problem was, in the first 50 pages, you can really tell that Ed was annoying Min but still she put up with him, because if I was her, I would ignore him. And what I’ve learned from this is – if you want to have a healthy relationship, the both f you should really trust each other, balance your life, be there for each other and if you’re not happy with what you both have, break things off. That’s what Min should have done a loooong time ago.

I really recommend this book for people who loves the idea of love and to those people who have just experienced falling in and out of love or you just really want to know why they broke up.

Overall, this book has so much emotion and I can’t really describe the feels that I went through with this. It’s just so good. You’ll laugh and cry with Min and Ed’s story. The words were really deep and it will make your heart melt.
