16 Things I Learned in 2016

This is a little to late but I just wanted to share with you what I learned in 2016. Last year was probably the hardest year for me. I remembered the time when my mind was considering to commit suicide, but thankfully I didn’t.

  1. Leave everything up to God, literally everything.
  2. When it comes to friends, always consider this: Quality > Quantity.
  3. Strive for God’s best, not your own.
  4. You don’t have to forgive someone for hurting you, it’s absolutely okay to just forget about them.
  5. You are never too old to cry. It shows how strong you are.
  6. There are going to be a night where you can’t sleep. Just look out the window, when you see the light starting to filter in your window and remind yourself that you made it through another day.
  7. Committing suicide is not the answer.
  8. Laugh, laugh and laugh until your stomach starts to ache.
  9. Scream. Just let yourself roar like a tiger. Don’t be shy to let it out.
  10. At times, the wisest thing to do is to stay silent.
  11. There is nothing wrong with being alone.
  12. Don’t be embarrassed to ask for someone’s help.
  13. Sometimes you just need your depression stay with you for a while.
  14. Not everyone will love you back. There is nothing you need to change about yourself.
  15. Stop dwelling on the pass and move forward.
  16. You are allowed to be angry with people, the world and yourself. Just learn to let it go; don’t you ever hold grudges.
